RENTAL ASSISTANCE
The CAAATCRCC Rental Assistance Program is designed to meet the emergency needs of households confronted with a financial crisis due to sudden unemployment, illness of a primary wage-earner, or natural disasters such as Covid-19. This program provides financial assistance to qualifying households to cover such basic expenses as rent, water, or the purchase of prescription medication. Requests are approved based on income eligibility, availability of funds, and documentation need.
Rental Assistance Guidelines

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO RECEIVE SERVICE
ALL APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Photo ID of the applicant
- Proof of income for every household member 18 or older
- SS Card for every Household member
- Lease
- Household must have an eviction notice. The landlord must put in writing the amount the applicant will be required to pay in order to guarantee" they will be able to maintain residence for at least 30 additional days
- If the vendor will be satisfied with the CAA pledge the vendor must put in writing that the pledge from CAA will keep them in the residence for at least 30 additional days
- For deposits to obtain housing: Household must have a letter from the landlord stating how much they will accept in order for applicant to move into the home and reside there for at least 30 days
- The applicant is responsible for all payments above the amount approved by CAA
- If the vendor is requiring the whole amount due to be paid the client must pay any amount over the max for CSBG/ General Funds and return the receipt
LITT LITE APP
All rental applications will be completed online in our LITTLITE App (Lifting Individuals Through Technology).
The LITTLITE portal is for qualifying Alabamians to apply for assistance with needs and services available from local Community Action Agencies or other community services provider. Assistance will be based on household eligibility and available funding.
